LTC Seth Allen

Professor of Military Science


Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Seth M. Allen was born in Wiesbaden, Germany and grew up in Fairfax, Virginia. He received his commission as a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery from the United States Army Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia in February 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s Degree in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University.

LTC Allen’s previous operational tours include one tour to Kuwait and Jordan for Operation Spartan Shield, one in Afghanistan with the 4th Infantry Division and two tours in Iraq with the 31st Military Transition Team and Charlie Battery, 2nd Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment.

LTC Allen is a graduate of the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, Command and General Staff College, Ranger School, Airborne School, the Army Operational Electronic Warfare School, Military Transition Team Course, the Joint Firepower Controller Course, the First Army Observer Controller Course, the University Senior Leader Course, and the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course.

LTC Allen’s military awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (with three oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (with one oak leaf cluster), Valorous Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation (with one oak leaf cluster), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (with three stars), Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4), Ranger Tab, Combat Action Badge, and the Parachutist Badge.

LTC Allen is married to the former Megan J. Lynch of Wichita, Kansas, and they have a son, Sören.
