Nathan Hale Battalion Alpha Company cadets complete a bleacher climb PT in remembrance of the 9/11 attacks. With their respective squads, they must continuously run up and down six sets of bleacher stairs for an hour. Between sets, they conduct 15 repetitions of hand release pushups before starting again.

Two cadets wearing camouflage military uniforms, tan boots, and gloves stand in a green forest during the daytime. They are both positioned on a cluster of rocks. One leans slightly forward and looks around with a small map in hand. The other stands next to him with her back turned to the camera but looks down at a compass, wearing a camouflage backpack with the letters “U.S.” written in black on it.

MSII pair (CDT Lin and CDT Piccirillo) use their compass in preparation to dead reckon to their hidden point during the second land navigation Lab of the Fall 2026 semester. To be considered a “Go”, MSIs have to find 3/4 points, MSIIs need 3/5, and MSIIIs need to locate 4/6. They all must be back within 3 hours to be considered successful at Land Navigation.

Two young cadets wearing camouflage Army uniforms and rucksacks walk side by side on a paved road. One soldier smiles while the other sticks out her tongue. Behind them is a red barn and an early morning pink and orange sky. Power lines, a parked car, and a large tree are visible in the distance.

UConn Nathan Hale Battalion Cadets (MSIV CDT Meh and MSII CDT Berrios) complete their first lap of Horsebarn Hill Road to complete the 4-Mile Ruck PT. Cadets have three pace group options to acquaint themselves with the route and their physical abilities for future ruck activities. All cadets are expected to remain within their respective pace group and successfully execute the ruck within the given time limit.
